Actually, I never thought I'd write a whole book, either. I've wanted to since I was about twelve, and I've been writing ever since. And reading. Lots of reading.
My favorite books (other than the Bible, which is more than a book) are The Lord of the Rings trilogy by Tolkien. Before I had my boys, it was a Christmas tradition to read them during the holidays—I've probably read them a dozen times each. And I've always liked fairy tales and dragons and happily-ever-after.
I guess that's why I'm writing a fairy tale-style series. The Firethorn Crown was inspired by The Twelve Dancing Princesses by the Brothers Grimm. The original is short, as fairy tales go, and it's been one of my favorites ever since I watched a retelling on Shelley Duvall's Fairie Tale Theatre with my one-and-only awesome sister years ago. I only meant to write one book, but then all the girls started clamoring for their own story. I was outnumbered.
So, this is the place to learn about their stories, and maybe a bit of mine, too. If all goes well, The Firethorn Crown should be available on Kindle and in paperback through Amazon by the end of September. The best way to keep up-to-date regarding new releases, cover reveals, giveaways, and whatever else I can think of is to sign up for email updates (you can get Chapter One free right now if you do!).
Happy reading!
